Bolton University’s Institute of Management

President & Vice Chancellor of Bolton University George E Holmes DL awarded the Italian-born British entrepreneur and Honorary Consul for San Marino Dr Maurizio Bragagni as Visiting Professor of Leadership at the Institute of Management of the Bolton University.

The prestigious University honorary visiting appointments are offered to candidates that have reached an exceptional record of personal achievement at a national and international level of excellence showing academic distinction, or professional standing of a high order.

A Visiting Professor can therefore be a Senior Academic, Public Official or servant, businessperson, or industrialist who has risen to the very top of his/her profession and whose appointment will enhance the reputation of the University at the highest levels.

This is precisely the case for Dr. Maurizio Bragani, CEO of Tratos Ltd: one of the world’s top quality cable manufacturer with production sites in the UK and Italy, more than 500 employees, and representative offices based worldwide.

The secret of this success has to be found in the huge investments the company made in R&D consisting, for example, in the setup of the “Tratos Academy”, a training initiative for the employees of the company that pushes innovation and spreads fundamental corporate culture.

This led the company to win, in 2019, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2019, and allowed the company CEO’s to recently join the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) board.

After attending scientific high school in San Sepolcro, Tuscany, Dr Bragagni studied Law at the University of Pisa and later got an MBA at Cass Business School, London.

Dr Maurizio Bragagni is surely an eclectic man, with a wide range of interests. Other than being a writer and journalist, he also dedicates to charity activities. In fact, he founded Esharelife.org, a charitable foundation aimed at providing education and vocational skills training for some of the most disadvantaged children and young people in Kenya’s worst slums.
